SUPERFOODS BITES⚡️ I made date balls this morning filled with yummy superfoods, no sugar added, only what naturally comes from dates. You can make millions of versions of superfoods bites with whatever you prefer. I used what I had on hand and you can use what you have also. Dates are great because they act as a binder, are already sweet but you can also add natural sugars like honey, maple or coconut nectar. Nut or seed butters like almond butter, sunbutter, tahini or pumpkin seed butters are great to add thickness, binding and nutrients too. Play around with mixtures and see what you like the best or what your kids will eat! I sometimes will add melted dark chocolate on the outside to cover the balls with. It’s funny how my kids will not eat this alone but dip them in chocolate and it’s a whole other world! If you use a great organic dark chocolate with low sugar, it also is an added superfood because organic dark chocolate with a high cacao content is great in antioxidants and you and your family will love it!

Here’s the ingredients that I used this morning, I did not measure, just went for a dough forming texture. I know that I used 8 oz. of dates and soaked them in lukewarm water first for about 5 minutes to soften. Add dates to a food processor and process till its doughy, add in your nut or seed butter and process the two together. Remove this mixture and put in a larger bowl, add in your pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, chia seeds, maca powder, cinnamon and mix. Form balls and pop on the fridge to harden. Keep them stored in a lid container in the fridge until you are ready to eat! Best enjoyed with a cup of organic coffee 🙂
